***COVID-19 / Coronavirus Update***
To Our Valued Patients at Robinson Orthodontics,
On the evening of March 18, 2020, Governor Kate Brown announced a temporary Order/Mandate requiring all Oregon hospitals, outpatient clinics, and health care providers, (including veterinarians, dentists and orthodontists) to immediately cease performing all non-emergency procedures. We do not yet know how long this order will remain in effect, but we will update this notice and contact our patients directly once the restrictive order has been removed by the governor.
In compliance with this temporary order, Robinson Orthodontics will only be able to see patients who are experieng an orthodontic emergency. This includes:
•  Orthodontic-related pain that cannot be comforted with wax or over-the-counter pain relievers, Clipping or adjustment of an orthodontic wire or appliance that is piercing or ulcerating the mucosa.
•  Trauma to the mouth and/or braces that requires urgent attention.
•  Any orthodontic occurrence/situation that you feel could lead to a significant negative outcome if left untreated.
If you are uncertain whether or not your situation is an orthodontic emergency, please contact me directly at (541) 295-0667. I have received guidance from the Oregon Board of Dentistry to evaluate each patient on a case-by-case basis for emergency care, and I will make certain that you are cared for appropriately.
Our team at Robinson Orthodontics will proactively be reaching out to our patients who have scheduled appointments and assist them with rescheduling at a future date.
This is a challenging time for everyone in our community and throughout our country and the world. We appreciate your understanding and are grateful for your support and cooperation. Please stay healthy and safe!

Clear Self-Ligating Braces
Grants Pass, OR

Jaylyn, a patient in Grants Pass, OR with clear self-ligating braces from Robinson Orthodontics Clear self-ligating braces are a revolutionary approach to straightening teeth. Instead of using a lot of metal, this self-ligating system uses one strip of wire. The wire is attached to the teeth by brackets, and it will gently straighten teeth. One of the main complaints that some patients have with traditional braces is that they do not like the look of having a mouth filled with metal. There is still metal involved with clear self-ligating braces, but it is not nearly the same amount. Still, some people would prefer that the braces be even less obvious. Here at Robinson Orthodontics, we have a solution that will allow you to enjoy the benefits of straightening with Damon braces, while not having it be quite so obvious. That solution is known as Damon Clear.

What You Need to Know About Clear Self-Ligating Braces

Clear self-ligating braces are not an invisible appliance, but they are much less noticeable. This makes it a great choice for both teens and adults.

With clear self-ligating braces, we will still attach brackets to your teeth. These will hold the wire in place. With clear self-ligating braces, the brackets are clear. That makes them a lot harder to see unless someone is looking for them. Because of the placement of clear self-ligating braces, most people will not realize that you have an oral appliance.

One benefit of clear self-ligating braces, in general, is that they work a lot faster than traditional metal braces. Often the amount of time that they need to be worn is cut by six months or more. Just because they take less time does not mean that they will not do as good of a job. You will love the results with clear self-ligating braces.

Another thing that is nice about clear self-ligating braces is that you will still be able to eat things that you should stay away from with traditional braces. You should still avoid anything that will coat your teeth, but that is something that you should do anyway.

You might wonder why clear self-ligating braces are often preferred over removable braces with aligners. The answer to this is simple. While aligners are great for some people, they do not correct more severe problems. With clear self-ligating braces, that is not the case. Clear self-ligating braces are great for lesser and greater straightening needs.

Another problem that some people have with aligners is that they will take them off to eat or to brush, and then they will forget to put them back on. You will not need to worry about that with clear self-ligating braces because you cannot take them off. We will do that here at our office once it is time.

If you have been putting off straightening your teeth because you do not want the look of traditional metal braces, clear self-ligating braces could be the solution that you are looking for. Here at Robinson Orthodontics, we would like to talk to you about them and answer all of your questions. Call (541) 441-8288 right away. The sooner you call, the sooner you will have straighter teeth, the clear self-ligating braces way.
