•  Sticky foods: caramel, taffy, gum, and gummy candies can pull brackets off your teeth or get stuck in your wires and brackets, making them difficult to clean
•  Chewy foods: bagels, hard rolls, and beef jerky require excessive force that can bend wires or dislodge brackets
•  Foods you bite into directly: whole apples, corn on the cob, carrots, and hard pretzels, should also be avoided in their whole form

These foods put pressure on the front brackets and can cause damage. Instead, cut apples into small slices, remove corn from the cob, and slice carrots into thin strips before eating.
